5-Day Agro-Processing Workshop

Cost per person: $150.00

As part of its mandate to facilitate the continued development of the Agriculture Sector, the Department of Agriculture has the responsibility of providing ongoing training interventions to address the needs of its clients, both famers and agri-business entrepreneurs.

The Department, in conjunction with Scientific Research Council of Jamaica, will be hosting an Agro-Processing Workshop for approximately 20 persons, providing them with the opportunity to upgrade their skills in the areas of good manufacturing practices (GMPs), principles of Agro-Processing and the manufacturing of purees, juices, sauces, jams, jellies, and dried spices, for safe and efficient food processing, and packaging.

Interested producers, must be 18years or older, who are looking to add value to their crops or individuals interested in starting or improving their Agro-Processing business. The workshop is limited to 20 persons and accepted applicants will be called to attend and required to make payment for the workshop before the 18th of July at our Sales Warehouse on Agricola drive, in Lower Valley.
