Temporary Suspension of Poultry Movement Inter-Island
The Department of Agriculture in the Ministry of Planning, Lands, Agriculture, Housing and Infrastructure has announced the temporary suspension of all inter-island movement of live avian species (including poultry) between Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman.
This includes both export and import of live birds in either direction.
The restriction will remain in place for 21 days as part of enhanced disease-prevention and biosecurity measures. These actions have been deemed necessary to help safeguard the islands’ poultry sector and prevent the potential spread of avian-related illnesses.
The Department of Agriculture will provide further updates as the situation develops. For more information, members of the public can contact agriculture@gov.ky; 947-3090 (press 0) or 916-7146.
