Please be reminded that the Department of Agriculture has permanently ceased the setting of chicken traps.
Affected persons can purchase traps from AL Thompsons Ltd. or from the Department of Agriculture’s Sales Warehouse at the cost of $79.75 each.
Trapped chickens can be delivered to the Department’s Pound between the hours of 12:00pm -1:00pm and 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday except for public holidays.
For calls related to feral cats, please contact a local animal rescue for assistance. At this time, the Department of Agriculture does not handle feral cats.

Non-emergency calls consist of the following:
- Stray animals
- Nuisance animals
- Routine pick-up of animals
- Animals roaming at large
- Animal rescue calls
Emergency calls consist of the following:
- Animal bites (person only)
- Injured animals
- Unsecured animals displaying aggressive behaviour
- Roaming/straying animals at schools, hospitals, airport, and seaports
- Assistance of law enforcement agencies
- Dogs attacking livestock in progress
