MPAHITD- George Town Revitalization – Phase II
Public Notification: George Town Construction Activities

George Town, Grand Cayman – June 5, 2024, The George Town Revitalisation Initiative, overseen by the Ministry of Planning, Agriculture, Housing, Infrastructure, Transportation, and Development, in coordination with The National Roads Authority and the RCIPS, is dedicated to keeping the public informed about current and upcoming construction activities. These projects may impact daily routines and traffic flow in George Town. Below is a summary of the scheduled works and related public notifications:

Robson Construction Works:
Thursday, June 6, 2024: Drilling of a well on Edward Street near Victoria’s Secret.
o Note: The road closure application for this work is pending approval by the RCIPS. Affected stakeholders will be notified in anticipation of this approval.

CUC Works – Phase 7, 8 & 9 (NRA Traffic Management Plan):
1. Wednesday, June 5, 2024: Works commence in the Post Office Parking lot.
o Timeline: Approximately two weeks.
2. Saturday, June 8, 2024: Works commence at the intersection of Edward Street and Shedden Road.
o Timeline: conducted over two weekends: June 8-9 and June 15-16). Road closure required.
3. Monday, June 17, 2024: The next phase of works will begin.
o Timeline: Approximately 2 weeks.

Please note that these project plan dates are current but may be subject to change. These activities are part of ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and ensure the safe and efficient operation of public utilities in our community.

Note: These works will only be conducted over the weekend and thus will be spread over two weeks (June 8-9 & 15-16) Road Closure will be required.

The next phase of works to follow the above works. Projected start: Monday June 17, 2024
