Additional Revisions to Import Conditions for Dogs and Cats Cayman Islands
The Department of Agriculture (D0A) wishes to advise of an additional update to the changes to the importation conditions of dogs and cats from the United States of America, effective October 1, 2026.
Key Updates
Handwritten signatures will continue to be accepted. Veterinary Health Certificates completed by USDA-accredited veterinarians may continue to bear a handwritten signature.
USDA / APHIS endorsement is not required. Veterinary Health Certificates do not require endorsement by an official veterinarian of the USDA / APHIS for importation into the Cayman Islands.
USDA / APHIS-endorsed certificates will also be accepted. While APHIS endorsement is not required, certificates that have been endorsed by USDA/APHIS will continue to be accepted by the Department of Agriculture.
Digital signatures are also accommodated. Updated Veterinary Health Certificates formatted to support digital signatures from a USDA-accredited veterinarian will also be accepted, provided all applicable importation requirements are met.
Importers are reminded that all other applicable requirements for the importation of dogs and cats must continue to be met.
