The Department of Agriculture wishes to inform you of our operating hours today and tomorrow:
- DoA Sales Office, Warehouse, Plant Nursery – OPEN TODAY UNTIL 5:30PM
- All DoA Grand Cayman Offices – OPEN TODAY UNTIL 5:00PM
- All DoA Cayman Brac Offices – OPEN TODAY UNTIL 4:30PM
All Department of Agriculture Offices in Cayman Brac and Grand Cayman will be CLOSED TOMORROW (November 5, 2024) due to the inclement weather approaching.
We strongly encourage all farmers to stock up on essential livestock and agricultural supplies today in preparation for the incoming storm.
Livestock farmers, in particular, should take note of the key safety points outlined below and act accordingly:
Key Points for Farmers:
- Flooding Risk: Be aware that flooding can happen suddenly. Plan potential escape routes for animals at risk of drowning.
- Elevated Areas: If possible, allow animals access to higher ground, such as mounds, hills, or alternative pastures, to ensure their safety.
- Electrical Hazards: Stay away from electrical lines and wires to avoid danger.
- Secure Containers: Ensure that all containers are properly secured to prevent damage or contamination.
