About the Seminar:
The Department of Agriculture is pleased to announce a seminar that directly addresses the needs, challenges, and opportunities all geared towards improving the local livestock sector. It is with this thrust; we hope to strengthen the collaborative efforts with the farming community by hosting this important seminar series.
This session will cover:
Herd health plans help to prevent disease and coordinate efficient livestock production and profits, topics on this will include:
- Available vaccines
- Deworming
- Livestock identification
Biosecurity is important for managing the movement of disease (both into and off the farm) and works harmoniously with a good herd health plan. Biosecurity topics to be discussed include:
- Farm-specific biosecurity plans
- Quarantine
- Farmer/farmhand training
- Sanitation/Disinfection measures
