NOTICE TO LIVESTOCK FARMERS
The Department of Agriculture’s Veterinary Services Unit invites all Cattle, Goat, and Pig farmers to attend our upcoming seminar:
🎄 “The Road to Christmas Slaughter”
📅 Thursday, October 23rd, 2025
📍 CIAS Stacy Watler Pavilion, Lower Valley
🕡 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
This informative session will prepare farmers planning to use the Department of Agriculture’s Abattoir Services during the Christmas period.
Topics will include:
- Medication & Meat Withdrawal
- Fear-Free Handling and Livestock Welfare
- Antemortem Inspection
- Carcass and Meat Inspection – presented by the Department of Environmental Health
Farmers are encouraged to attend to ensure they meet all slaughter and processing requirements, maintain high standards of animal welfare, and deliver safe, quality meat for the season.
