| Salary Range: CI$30,312 – $39,780 per annum A generic post that operates in the nursery and the crop production activities area as well as the Tree Crop Husbandry programme offered to farmers in the Cayman Brac community. |

The post holder is required to carry out a wide range of tasks at the Department of Agriculture’s nursery and experimental station, office complex as well as duties relating to tree crop husbandry and plant propagation offered to farmers in the Cayman Brac Community.
The post holder is responsible for assisting with the production and distribution of approximately 100,000 vegetable seedlings /herbs plantlets annually.
The post covers a wide range of duties relating to the following:
- Propagation of herbs, vegetable seedlings for sale to farming community
- Assist with potting of seedlings and fruit trees, herbs etc. at the DOA nursery
- Aesthetic maintenance the grounds at the Agricultural complex.
- Pest and disease management at the DOA nursery
- Spraying of fruit trees for commercial fruit farmers registered with the Department of Agriculture
- Assist with maintaining the DOA orchard
KNOWLEDGE – High school graduate with knowledge of agriculture.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS – Must have at least three (3) years practical experience in nursery/farm work experience including plant propagation, establishment and care of tree crops, bananas and vegetables.
Benefits are in accordance with the Public Service Management Act and Regulations, the Public Service Pensions Act and the CINICO Health Plan as may be amended from time to time. Pension and health benefits are non-contributory.
