PRESS RELEASE – George Town Revitalisation Celebrates Cayman Art Week Central with the return of Art in the City

George Town Revitalisation celebrates Cayman Art Week Central with the return of Art in the City, Friday May 24th.

The George Town Revitalisation Initiative, managed under the Ministry of Planning, Agriculture, Housing, Infrastructure, Transport & Development, is delighted to present Art in the City, the centerpiece event of the fourth annual Cayman Art Week Central from May 22-26. This year’s Cayman Art Week is set to be the biggest yet, featuring 15 galleries, 11 studios, and 14 pop-up exhibitions spanning all three Cayman Islands.

Minister Johany ‘Jay’ Ebanks comments, “Cayman Art Week and Art in the City are key components of our vision to celebrate and expand the cultural richness of the Cayman Islands. These events not only showcase the diverse talents of our local artists but also create vital connections within our community and with visitors from around the world. We are proud to support this vibrant celebration of creativity, which contributes significantly to our islands’ cultural and economic vitality.”

Join us on Friday, May 24th, for the popular ‘Art in the City’ happy hour from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Cardinall Avenue, courtesy of The Ministry PAHITD & George Town Revitalisation.

Following the happy hour, all are encouraged to take advantage of complimentary bus tours running on a loop from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. These tours will explore some of the city’s most innovative and engaging art venues.

With all venues free and open to the public, and artists present at many of the week’s events, Cayman Art Week offers a unique opportunity for the public to engage directly with the vibrant arts community. Art lovers will also find a variety of works for sale, catering to every budget.
